Detailed project description:

Industry 4.0 generates fundamental changes in the economy and society. We are facing with an accelerating process, on which there are no standardized responses. The V4 countries, as an economic area, should strive to find common responses to these emerging issues and develop ongoing cooperation on these issues. Nevertheless, it should not be done only in the field of a large-scale industry, but also among family, micro and small businesses in the V4 countries. This project functions as a first step in this area. In the 4 countries, the SME organizations conduct a questionnaire survey among family, micro and small businesses and then, on the 1.5-day international conference they will summarize their experiences. However, in order to get a wide international overview, the conference will be attended by the representatives of the German and Italian SME organizations and by the experts of the UEAPME, the European Association of Small and Medium Enterprises, who will present their experiences. This will help us figure out the stages of the SMEs in the process of digitization in Europe’s leading countries as well as in the V4 countries, furthermore, the direction of the necessary steps they should take. The conference also aims to provide a brief overview of the national industry 4.0 strategies of the V4 countries, particularly from the point of view of family, micro and small-sized businesses. Therefore, the speakers of the conference will include the representatives of the Hungarian Ministry of National Economy and the Hungarian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade. An important part of the project is the dissemination of the collected information to V4 SME organizations, as well as their member companies and decision-makers.
